Win Tickets to Turf War with Concord America at The EARL!

turfwar

Turf War first got it’s start in band member John Robinson’s bedroom back in 2008. After growing their following in their hometown of Augusta, GA the guys packed up and moved to Atlanta to share their gritty, Southern-tinged, indie punk rock with the world. Some of their major influences have come from The Replacements, Creedance Clearwater Revival, and Bruce Springsteen. Their debut album, Years of Living Dangerously, was released on Old Flame Record in 2011, and their single “Cheers To The Years” even jumped to rotation on Sirius XMU. You may even recognize the song from season three of Showtime’s hit series Shameless. Festivals and live touring have been keeping the band busy including sets at Fun Fun Fest, Governors Ball, Firefly, and Savannah Stopover. Their first single, “Born To Run Free” off their new EP, The Great Escape, was just released last week, so be sure to give it a listen before their show at The EARL this Friday, April 11th!

Atlanta based, Concord America is made up of brothers John and Vinny Restivo and friend Ben Presley who formed around their mutual love for Rock and Roll, but found their unique sound picking from classic Garage, late-50’s Doo-Wop, Proto Grunge, Power-Pop, and modern Surf Revival. They recorded their first LP, Shag Nasty last year, tracking everything live in their basement. The Black Lips, Pixies and Cage The Elephant influenced, Concord America will be playing with Turf War at The EARL this Friday, April 11th!

Ranch Ghost and Majestico will also be appearing!
