5GB With Interstellar; Playing The Earl, Jan. 9th

Interstellar_Ash_full_redAtlanta based Indie Rock n Rollers have an authentic British snarl delivered from frontman Sid Wilson, ethereal soundscapes fashioned by guitarist Nick Pirtle, & killer backbeats supported by Patrick Reinhardt (drums) & Jon Sheats (bass). And I just so happen to have known these music-heads for years! Check them out I know they won’t disappoint. They joined us for our 5GB series before their show at The Earl.

What’s the first gig you ever attended?

My brother was played drums in a band called “Laggy Band”, I went to see them play at a local pub in the North of England (where I grew up). They were definitely pulling from the ‘Madchester” scene of the late 80’s/early 90’s, which was probably the earliest influence for me too, that being my brother & the Madchester baggy vibe.

What is the best gig that you ever played/performed?

Honestly, last month we shared the stage with “ASH” @ Vinyl. Such an honor for us to play with these living legends from across the pond, who haves sold millions & millions of records. It was also our (Interstellar’s) first gig so it was a great feeling to perform all the new material I had recently penned both hear & back in England. As a songwriter you always hope you are honing your craft & getting better, & I feel like these tunes are up there with my best. Plus everybody in Interstellar played the set ridiculously well. The lads have shaped our music naturally & I think that flow is there when we play live.

What is the best gig you have ever seen?

Muse. Although, they only played 3 songs before the lead singer cut his lip wide open on his mic whilst wielding his guitar over his head, going crazy. Served him right the show-off, just kidding. The sad thing was they had to abandon ship. I felt torn because I was buzzing after witnessing such an amazing gig, and at the same time feeling ripped off coz I only got to experience 3 tunes. They still owe me a ticket, as promised.

What is the gig you would most like to play?

Glastonbury, England. SXSW, USA

What would be the lineup for your dream gig?

Interstellar
Kasabian
Bob Dylan (1960’s Bob Dylan that is)

Catch Interstellar Wednesday, Jan. 9th at The Earl
