5GB With Tanlines; Playing @ The Basement At Graveyard Tavern

Mixed Emotions is the debut album by Tanlines, a Brooklyn NY duo composed of Eric Emm (vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Jesse Cohen (drums, keyboards, bass). Initially born as a production project based out of Emm’s Brooklyn-based Brothers Studio, Tanlines has evolved into a deeply personal, unique electronic pop group. They are playing The Basement at Graveyard Tavern and joined us for our 5GB series.

What’s the first gig you ever attended?

Eric: my aunt took me to see the Temptations at Point State Park when I was either 4 or 6.

What is the best gig that you ever played/performed?

Jesse: one recent show that we played that we really enjoyed was at the FYF Fest in LA over labor day weekend. Another very different but also great show was in a basement venue in Brooklyn when our first EP came out in 2010.

What is the best gig you have ever seen?

Jesse: I once saw the Japanese psych band Ghost play a really incredible show, and I didn’t know any of their music or have ever heard of them. Also, we played with Rick Ross once and watched him perform from behind the stage and we were really impressed.

What is the gig you would most like to play?

We still have never been to Japan and would love to have a great show there.

What would be the lineup for your dream gig?

Michael Jackson and Jerry Seinfeld

Catch Tanlines playing The Basement at Graveyard Tavern, Nov. 8th
