Passafire @ The Masquerade

With Passafire, you get the best of both worlds. They love to bring a harder rock edge, while maintaining a progressive reggae base. The group began in 2003 when students at Savannah College of Art and Design met. The band’s popularity quickly grew, and by time they knew it they were playing with bands like Slightly Stoopid, The Wailers and 311. “We like to tour,” the group says. “Touring is the best way to keep the buzz about the band going.” This show continues as part of their Winter Tour.

Tickets are $12 advanced. Show is at 8 pm.

Tortured Soul @ The Loft

Tortured Soul is proof that the world of electronic dance music can be freed from the DJ booth. This dance trio puts an incredible twist on edm, and has been called, “the future of house music.” The group began in 2001 when the band’s front man John Christian-Urich composed a song that was quickly picked up by deep-house label Central Park Recordings. The group’s sound consists of the traditional New York house music, while blending in elements of disco beats, hip-hop, salsa and jazz fusion.

 Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Doors open at 9 pm.

Erick Baker @ Eddie’s Attic

Erick has been noted for his emotional energy, passion and intensity on stage. His songs encompass everything people look for in a song: a familiar pulse of love and loss, lyrical honesty and passionate confessions that unravel deep secrets and emotions. Due to his incredible talent, he has been invited to play with artists like The Goo Goo Dolls, James Blunt, John Legend and Grace Potter.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $16 at the door. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Saturday Jan. 17

SZA @ Centerstage

SZA’s soulful and seductive allure has made her one to watch. Her gentle innocence yet intense writing create the subtleties that grab your attention. Her heavy presence on Soundcloud allows listeners the opportunity to constantly hear her new works.

Sons of Bill @ The EARL

Sons of Bill is a five-piece rock and Americana band from Charlottesville, VA  founded by brothers Sam, Abe, and James Wilson, along with bassist Seth Green and drummer Todd Wellons. Their Virginia roots obviously run deep, with dreamy pedal steel, banjo, and three part harmonies. Sons of Bill is promoting their newest LP “Love and Logic.”

Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Doors open at 9 pm.

Sunday Jan. 18

Playground Hero @ Vinyl

Playground hero has a solid belief: you have your own story of triumph, which makes you a hero. This urban alternative rock band has been together since 1999, and has since played in over 24 states, two different countries and 300 shows. Their sound has been said to resemble that of The Suicide Machines, The Hoverrounds, and Mustard Plug.

Tickets are $11. Show starts at 6:30pm.
