AMG Weekend Picks: Face to Face, Elizabeth & the Catapult, Panic at the Disco and More!

We’re getting ready to head on into the lovely long Memorial Day weekend, which means summer is here! Yes, we know you thought that was when the heat hit the 90s. Or when your muscly neighbor started jogging without a shirt in the evenings. Now, if you want to get super-technical, the first day of summer doesn’t hit us for a few more weeks, but don’t tell the people celebrating with beer and brats that. Celebrate yourself with some great gigs and some brilliant on-sales below.

Thursday, May 26 – Face to Face at Masquerade

California pop punk band Face to Face has reformed and will be stopping buy Atlanta’s Masquerade for a much-welcomed gig.

Thursday, May 26 – Elizabeth & the Catapult at Vinyl

The charming, eclectic, folky indie pop group Elizabeth & the Catapult will win you over if you give them the chance, so give them a go tonight.

Friday, May 27 – Atlanta All-Soul Revue at The EARL

Some of Atlanta’s best soul, funk and R&B talent gather for one night. Catch Soulphonics & Ruby Velle, Atlanta Funk Society, Michelle Marshall and George Hughley all at The EARL on Friday.

Friday, May 27 – Panic at the Disco at The Tabernacle

A bit of glam, a wee bit of emo, some theatrics, a ton of baroque pop, and you have Panic at the Disco. The band’s new record, Vices and Virtues, was co-produced by Atlanta’s own Butch Walker, so you know the kind of rough-and-shiny sheen that you’ll be getting.

Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28 – Bubbapalooza 20th Anniversary at Star Bar

Celebrate the life of Gregory Dean Smalley with this annual festival, featuring performances from Ocha La Rocha, Anna Kramer & the Lost Cause and others, as well as The Redneck Cruise-In Car Show, BBQ provided by Slope’s BBQ, a raffle and more.

Tickets available at the door

Saturday, May 28 – Packway Handle Band at Smith’s Olde Bar

One of Georgia’s favorite bluegrass bands, Packway Handle Band, plays Smith’s Olde Bar with Maynard Terrace and Back City Woods.

Saturday, May 28 – Bone Thugs N Harmony at The Loft

Flesh-N-Bone, Layzie Bone, and Bizzy Bone bring back ’90s hip-hop group with a full band in tow for an epic rap show.

This event has been canceled.

Saturday, May 28 – Shovels and Rope at The EARL

Team Luis brings you a packed night with Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent’s new project Shovels and Rope, along with The Bareknuckle Betties and Lera Lynn.
