Concerts in Atlanta on Tuesday, March 18

thecolourist1

We sure are feeling that 6 more weeks of winter over at AMG. Luckily there are some great shows going on tonight to warm you right up!

The Colourist w/ Night Terrors of 1927 and The Wind + The Wave at Vinyl

The Colourist first stumbled upon one another in an underused warehouse in Orange County, CA, where Adam and Maya discovered the harmonic chemistry that has come to define the band’s bright and anthemic signature sound. Adam Castilla (vocals, guitar), Maya Tuttle (drums, vocals), Kollin Johannsen (guitar, bass), and Justin Wagner (bass, keys) have appeared at Coachella and played as supporting acts for Metric and Youngblood Hawke and Atlas Genius. We’re excited to get a taste of their pop-fueled, indie-bred rock right here in Atlanta tonight!

Waller, Battlefield Collective, and City Mouse at Eddie’s Attic

In less than a year, WALLER has evolved from a straightforward folk duo to a full-band powerhouse. The band is just as comfortable roaring through a country classic as they are pulling at your heart strings with a tender ballad. With deceptively simple songs, WALLER has stood out amidst the crowded music scene as something truly special: a group of good friends making great music.

Doors at 6:30 p.m. Tickets: GA $8 in advance, $12 at the door. Table seats are $10 and must be purchased in multiples of 4. Online and phone sales close at 5 p.m.

Cerebral Ballzy w/ Iron Reagan (Members of Municipal Waste, Suppression, Darkest Hour) at 529

When Cerebral Ballzy signed to Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records back in November, the announcement came with a major endorsement from the Strokes singer, who called the Brooklyn hardcore crew “probably the coolest band in the world at the moment” (via Rolling Stone). Cerebral Ballzy are known for their love of 80s punk, along with a keen interest in drinking, girls, pizza and skateboarding. According to the lead singer, Honor Titus, the name Cerebral Ballzy came from a friend who dropped a slice of pizza on a train track and picked it up. Honor said “That was ballsy” and his friend replied “Cerebral Ballsy!”.

Great Good Fine OK w/ The Love Agenda and Dendera Bloodbath at The EARL

Floating on a cloud of shoegaze ethereal-ism with dashes of power pop thrown in, The Love Agenda is also capable of beautifully subtle yet powerful rock balladry. Masterminded and fronted by Steven Webb, who coaxes all manner of sonic textures from his twin Fender Jazzmaster guitars, the songs of The Love Agenda are like unpretentious pages from the book of one man’s journey…rounded out with Terry Webb on bass (Nutbush, Cherry Road) and Rod Turner on drums (Cherry Road, Underhand), The Love Agenda are a tight 3-piece group playing genuine music about life.
