GRAMMY GPS – September 8th

On Saturday, September 8th The Recording Academy Atlanta Chapter presents GRAMMY GPS – A Road Map For Today’s Music Pro. As usual, this event is free to Recording Academy Members. But if you’re not a member, you can join for a whole year for only $100. Butch Walker will moderate a producer super panel (that should read a “super-producer panel”!!) that includes Michael Cox (who has produced Mariah Carey, Usher, Mary J Blige), Brendan O’Brien (Springsteen, Pearl Jam, RHCP), Steve Lillywhite (U2, Peter Gabrial, DMB) and Justin “Just Blaze” Smith (Busta Rhymes, Eminem, Jay-Z). In addition, there will be a MusiCares Vocal Tech Workshop, a Music & Entertainment Law Panel and a discussion with Geoff Emerick about his recording career with the Beatles.

You can RSVP for the event here or by calling 404.816.1380

If you’re in a band, or you’re a songwriter, or an engineer or a producer and would like more information about the benefits of joining, please click this link. And that goes for you to East-Atlanta indie bands… I know now that when I was in a band playing the Earl and Dotties, I should have known more about The Recording Academy and the benefits of membership. >ib
