GRAMMY U presents: Era of the Engineer tour with Young Guru, Apr 26

Young GuruGRAMMY U presents the Era of the Engineer tour with three-time GRAMMY nominated engineer and producer and member of The Recording Academy Producers and Engineers Wing advisory council, Young Guru. This exciting new platform will offer college students the opportunity to explore the importance of the audio engineer’s role in today’s do-it-yourself recording climate through town hall discussions and in-studio sessions.

Gimel “Young Guru” Keaton has an impressive resume in the recording industry. Young Guru possesses over a decade of experience in sound engineering, productions and A&R for Roc-A-Fella records and Def Jam recordings. Since 1999, he has manned the mixing board while rap mogul Jay-Z rhymed in the booth for 10 of his 11 studio albums. Along the way, he has collaborated with artists such as Drake, Rihanna, Eminem, Talib Kweli and Ludacris. He has recorded almost every other A-list MC and is recognized for shaping some of the biggest talent in hip hop. In 2010, he became Jay-Z’s official tour DJ. It is no surprise that he is revered as, “the sound of New York”… some even say that he has the “midas touch”.
