Atlanta band Jet have been forced to change their name to SPY due to the rights to the name being owned by the Australian band. SPY will perform May 4th at Music Midtown and May 17th at the 10 High with Film

The Hiss will interrupt recording in England to play 4 dates with Oasis. They will be the only support band for Oasis's forthcoming tour of Germany that will take them to Hamburg, Berlin, Dusseldorf and Munich.

The Hiss are currently in England working on demo's for their debut record after signing Monday to Loog Records, an imprint of Polydor UK, with producer Owen Morris (Oasis, Verve, and Ash). The brand new label was started by James Oldham (deputy editor of the NME for the last couple of years) who plans to style the label with the "atmosphere and passion of companies like Creation, Rough Trade and Heavenly" The band finish out the week playing a secret industry show at the Monarch in London, as well as a doing a photo shoot for NME's annual 'Top Ten bands to watch' in 2003 issue which will be out in January.

XFM Radio in London, England played the Hiss's 'Back on the Radio' during Zane Lowe's Music Response show today (12/4) - A limited edition single will be released in the UK on February 17th - meanwhile the band grace the cover of South East Perfomer magazine's December issue.

the hiss will be hosting HEAVY, a monthly party at the village in east atlanta. the band will be bringing some kindred souls to town to perform, then spinning a fine selection of their favorite records. the night kicks off tuesday november 26th with a performance from LA's good time women.

British band Electrasy are taking on the music industry and it's run-of-the-mill traditions, by releasing their next record grass roots, self served style ! It may have something to do with them being dropped by their last label Arista, but the last record was brilliant (you might remember the backwards video for the single 'Morning Afterglow') and they are hoping to get enough pre-orders to get the next record out themselves. In what could be seen as an attempt by Mike Lee and Maverick Records to avoid paying the band Film for the use of their song 'Q' on his latest EP, they have changed the name to 'So Alive'. The song, written and recorded before Mike Lee joined the band, appears on Film's first record 'Filmland' sung by the writer, and current Film guitarist Michael Sickeler. Mike Lee now has a full band and will be touring soon.

Cool For August is no longer, but all the members are still in music. Trevor has moved to LA and will be producing, meanwhile, Gordon has written several new songs with a producer. He'll be showcasing in LA in October. Chris Harris and Andrew are forming a new band.
