The 2005 Atlanta Music Guide Awards: 
The race is getting tight with the 2005 Atlanta Music Guide Awards less than two weeks away! If you haven't cast your vote yet, then what are you waiting for? Visit our voting page, and make your voice heard! Guest presenters include Christine Pullara (Turner South's Bushwhacked), English Nick (96 Rock), Jay Harren (99X), Tony Ware (Creative Loafing), Nick Marino (AJC), and many more to be announced. Guest DJ's include Preston Craig (Decatur Social Club) and more. 

In order to celebrate, every weeknight at 9pm, 99X brings you the Locals Only Lounge during Dekker's program, featuring a nightly song from an Atlanta band. Be sure to tune in each week as one of the nominees for the 99X Best New Band award in the Atlanta Music Guide Awards will be spotlighted. Angela Todd Tribute Concert - Smith's Olde Bar - Sunday September 11th
Angela Todd was an aspiring musician who won Star 94's RADIOSTAR contest, beating out thousands of people to perform with the likes of Norah Jones and Tonic. Todd was in a car accident in January 2004 and passed away. Artists such as Bain Mattox, The Swear, Gary Pfaff of Obsession Day, State of Man, and more have donated their time for the show. All proceeds will go to the Angela Todd Memorial Fund, which gives away a scholarship every year to a student in the Atlanta community pursuing an education in music and/or the arts. The cover is $10, and the show begins at 7:00pm. www.angelatodd.net

Can't Stand Still Hurricane Katrina Benefit - MJQ Concourse - Sunday September 11th
Members of every facet of Atlanta�s artistic community are coming together to support local families affected by Hurricane Katrina. The �Can�t Stand Still!� benefit will take place at MJQ Concourse Sunday, Sept. 11 at 9:00 p.m. Dirty South pioneer and Atlanta native Cee-Lo will be hosting the event that includes live music, Dj�s, and exciting auctions. A whole slew of local performers will there, including The Gates of Berlin, Collective Efforts, The Selmanaires, Scales from Nappy Roots, Psyche Origami, MF DOOM's dj Kool Akiem with Hassan Chop  and an ultra-rare ACOUSTIC performance by The Hiss. On the decks will be DJ Presto and DJ Sek aka The Chop Shop, MJQ's Death to Disco Overlord - Brian Parris, Preston, and Rob Wonder, among many others.
