What’s Up Monday?

Happy Monday to you Atlanta, how are you this morning? Did you have a good weekend? Are you looking for something fun to do tonight? One of my favorite bands are playing, so try and make it out.

-Northwesterners, The Shins, have been around for years without making it mega-commercial, and their devout following loves them for it. Their new album is getting some loving though, so go and continue to support them tonight at Cobb Energy Center.

-I’m an Ohioan, and you wouldn’t know it, but music is pretty popular up there, and besides corn, Columbus-based Mount Carmel will be rocking out at The Earl tonight.

-“Brooklyn duo Buke and Gass (aka Arone Dyer and Aron Sanchez) wield an arsenal of self-stylized instruments they’ve Frankenseined together.” See them tonight at 529.

Cris Cab leaps off a couch, playfully taunting a friend during a game of FIFA. It‟s a familiar scene for many his age, though not for the 19-year-old whose resume reads like this: mentored by Pharrell Williams; recording partner of Wyclef Jean; support act to O.A.R., Matisyahu, T-Pain and Gym Class Heroes; and proud owner of over 7 million YouTube views. He doesn‟t take much time off. See him tonight at Smith’s Olde Bar.

-Please do me a favor, and if you find yourself near Decatur, please stop by Eddie’s Attic to support your own for Songwriter’s Open Mic Night.
