chris stapletonAnd the countdown begins! The highly anticipated Party in the Park is just TWO days away! WE CANNOT WAIT! Luckily, we have some awesome shows happening tonight and tomorrow in Atlanta to get us amped up for the weekend! Check out the schedule for this evening below!

Chris Stapleton @ Eddie’s Attic

Chris Stapleton is known as the voice of the progressive bluegrass band The Steeldrivers, which he departed last spring, and now as the lead singer of The Jompson Brothers a hard-edged southern rock quartet that is being compared to some of the genre’s classic bands of the ’70s. As a writer with Sea Gayle Music Publishing (founded by the Music Row triumvirate of Brad Paisley, Frank Rogers and Chris DuBois), Stapleton is a co-writer of numerous charted country singles, including Kenny Chesney’s “Never Wanted Nothing More,” Darius Rucker’s “Come Back Song” and Steel Magnolia’s debut hit “Keep On Lovin’ You.”

Big Trouble: The Reunion Show @ Peachtree Tavern

Between 1990 and 1992, one band ruled the hard rock streets of Atlanta, GA… and that band was Big Trouble! Besides opening for such acts as Extreme, Skid Row, Bulletboys, and Jackyl (as well as many more), Big Trouble was selling out shows around the city and Southeast all by themselves. All 4 members have since moved on to successful careers and families. All are still playing in one fashion or another and the legacy of Big Trouble can still be heard in them today. To prove it, they have recorded a brand new track called ‘Popcorn, Whiskey, and Beer’. After 20 years and before their appearance at the Rocklahoma Festival, BIG TROUBLE will stagger to the stage and reunite in the Atlanta streets they use to rule and claim what is theirs! By popular demand, don’t miss it!

Cosmonauts @ 529

Hailing from the sleepy suburban sprawl of Orange County, California, Cosmonauts forge malcontent drone-pop melodies, delivered with a clangy laser-fuzz backbone. Formed in Summer 2009 by Alexander Ahmadi & Derek Cowart, Cosmonauts offer a glimpse of drug-addled Southern Californian rock n roll in the 21st century. Inspired in equal parts by polo-shirts and MDMA, this four-piece garage-trance outfit has garnered a reputation of amps dialed to ten and lullaby meltdowns with both audiences and contemporaries.

Floored @ The Masquerade

Floored consists of four friends out of Atlanta who have been creating music together, in some form or another, since 2006. They have a wide range of influences and backgrounds including Metallica, Mozart, Black Label Society, Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad, and Iron Maiden, to name a few.
