What’s Up Tuesday?

I woke up singing Sheryl Crow…Nothing better than a little Tuesday Night Music Club to get your Tuesday going! While you are taking a minute to listen to this awesome song, pick out one of these great events happening in  our little city tonight.

Better  Than Something is a feature documentary about the controversial and prolific garage rock icon Jimmy Lee Lindsey Jr, better known to the world as Jay Reatard. This intimate portrait, captured just months before his untimely passing, brings us incredibly close to Jay’s complicated punk-rock world in Memphis, Tennessee. Check out the screening tonight at The Earl.

-The Alliance Theatre’s upcoming production, Ghost Brothers of  Darkland County, features a blues and roots tinged score with music and lyrics by John Mellencamp and book by Stephen King. To accomplish what has been described as a “ghost story/rock concert mashup,” the actors in the cast must be true musicians. Eddie’s Attic is excited to partner with the Alliance Theatre to bring these talented actor/musician hybrids to our stage.

-Finger-picking Australian guitarist, Tommy Emmanuel, has been dubbed one of the world’s finest guitar players,” which must hold some truth if he can hold an entire Gwinnett Arena mesmerized.

-Alabama’s metalcore rockers, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, will be bringing the mayhem to the Masquerade, with local rockers, Stone Mountain Freeway and Lionize.
