Adron and Faye Webster @ Eddie’s Attic
Adron aka Adrienne McCann, is a young singer and songwriter who has been lately rejuvenating the pop music scene in Atlanta. Adron seamlessly blends classical harmony with the playfulness of ‘60s Brazilian Tropicàlia, the earnestness and sentiment of 70′s songwriters like Joni Mitchell and Harry Nilsson, and the cerebral sincerity of the hymn song. She adds to her songs a unique array of embellishments such as bird calls and other vocalizations, sometimes using her voice to mimic the instrumentation of a full orchestra, and sometimes singing in Portuguese and French, using language as another instrument.

Littyle Tybee w/ 100 Watt Horse @ the EARL

Little Tybee is something of a mini orchestra with its ever-evolving five to ten members all engaged in intricate musicianship. Their name comes from a tiny island off the coast of their native Georgia, where, legend has it an undetonated atomic bomb from the 1950s lies missing. They jokingly attribute the quirkiness of their debut album Building a Bomb to the long-term effects of eating radiation-drenched seafood, but it’s more likely they were just born that way.

Broken Bells is an American indie rock band composed of artist-producer Brian Burton (better known as Danger Mouse) and James Mercer, the lead vocalist and guitarist for The Shins. Broken Bells compose and create as a duo, but are joined by a full band on tour. Burton and Mercer decided to work together after meeting at the Roskilde Festival in 2004, and it was not until March 2008, that Mercer and Burton began recording “melodic, but experimental” music together in secret at Burton’s Los Angeles-based studio.

Hellfyre Club @ the Masquerade-Purgatory
Every few years the stars align and the skies open up showering us with unfounded goodies from a far off nether region. And with this many heroes of left field rap music unified for the purpose of melting minds and unsettling stomachs, this tape’s release is proving to be one of those essential moments. A moment when the ostracized shut-ins of the rap universe can hold their heads high in public. A moment when the hood-bound and collegiate can comfortably find common interests, share a common battle cry and a common soundtrack to accompany their misadventures.

George Thorogood and the Destroyers @ Center Stage Theater
For George Thorogood and his longtime band The Destroyers – Jeff Simon (drums, percussion), Bill Blough (bass guitar), Jim Suhler (rhythm guitar) and Buddy Leach (saxophone) – their 40th anniversary is indestructible proof that staying true to yourself and your music can still mean something. And with a catalog of iconic hits like “Who Do You Love”, “I Drink Alone”, “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer”, “Move It On Over”, “Bad To The Bone” and more, being able to share it with audiences is what will always matter.
