What’s Up Wednesday? January 8

rudy-currence-2It’s been a pretty light week in terms of concerts around the A! Seems everyone would rather be inside with the heat on high… No worries, though. Our friends at Eddie’s Attic always have a little something worth checking out on a week night, even if it means tearing ourselves away from our space heaters.

Rudy Currence @ Eddie’s Attic

The time has indeed come for the world to meet Island Def Jam recording artist Rudy Currence. Emerging with a brand new sound, look and vibe, expect nothing less than greatness from this rising young star. Currence, a young singer-songwriter, musician and producer began to leave his mark on the world at an early age with writing credits for Mya and Ray J and for a song in the “The Bourne Identity.” He has been honored as one of the recipients of the ASCAP writer’s award in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Rudy released several projects including two very successful indie CD’s “More Than You’ll Ever Know” and “Here With You” as well as a Christmas EP “Last Christmas” then made his national television debut on “The View” singing Quincy Jones’ single “Bossa Nostra” featuring Ludacris and Naturally 7. Rudy’s single, “THE O.T.H.E.R.”, produced by DJ Don Cannon is now available for download.

Speaking about his new music Currence says, “I’m really excited. I haven’t released an entire project in a while and this is the perfect time to reinvent myself.” The mixtape is essentially the best of both worlds.”

Currence combines the futuristic sounds and innovative elements of electronic music and fuses them with the live instrumentation and raw feel goodness of classic soul. Give him a listen.
