Finish off your week with any of these great shows we picked for you!

Friday July 11th

Brett Young @ Eddie’s Attic

When you see that look in Brett Young’s baby blues, it isn’t too hard to understand what took this California boy from a ball field to the recording studio. His gritty vocals and impassioned lyrics are built on the same firm foundation that had him as a pre-draft selection of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays straight out of high school—hard work, sheer talent and that thing music industry execs and baseball talent scouts alike simply call heart.

Nathan Angelo @ Eddie’s Attic

The ever-changing landscape of modern pop, Nathan Angelo shines as a refreshing alternative, embracing the classic elements of popular music and celebrating the backbeat of American tradition. As the revival of music in the 60’s and 70’s brought together the heritage of the Great American songbook, the flair of jazz and heartache of the Delta blues, Angelo integrates these forms into his own music with great ease and delight. Like many Motown and Stax artists, Angelo’s musical craft was cultivated at a young age in the pews and platform of the church. It was there that he first witnessed the power music had to transport people beyond their present experiences.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $14 at the door. Table seats are $12.50 and must be purchased in multiples of 4. Show starts at 9:30pm. Online and phone sales close at 5pm.

But The Baseball Project has since blossomed into a full-fledged, much-loved band in its own right, one which currently includes drummer Linda Pitmon and R.E.M.’s Peter Buck and Mike Mills on its official roster, and one whose following and creativity has steadily grown with each release and tour.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $17 at the door. Doors open at 8:30pm. Online and phone sales close at 6pm.

Curtis Harding w/ special guest @ The Earl

Curtis Harding says that soul music, and his music, speak for themselves. It’s self-evident on the Atlanta artist’s debut, Soul Power. The driving sound of his electrified Stratocaster, the foot-stomping backbeat and the lyrics swimming in reverb — with something this flourishing, it’s almost reductive to just dig around the roots. Harding’s style was born in Michigan and bred on the road, a restless childhood spent singing gospel alongside an evangelizing mother, then cultivated in Atlanta, where he sang backup for CeeLo Green and befriended the Black Lips.

Tickets are $10. Show starts at 9:30pm. Online and phone sales close at 6pm.

The Beach Boys with special guest John Stamos @ The Fred

John Stamos’ moonlighting gig with The Beach Boys is now nearing three decades – though Stamos looks about the same as he did in 1988’s “Kokomo” video – and he’s back with the band for spate of shows including Saturday’s gig at The Fred in Peachtree City. We expect it to be totally spectacular!

General Admission tickets are $45. Show starts at 8pm. Online and phone sales close at 4pm.

Sunday July 13th

Avers w/ special guests @ The Earl

Psychedelic pop. Blistering garage rock. Fuzzed-out shoegaze. Free-formed throwback jams. With their amps cranked high and their voices doused in reverb, Avers brew up their own kind of spacey swirl. It’s a sound that keeps one foot in the past and the other in the present, like some kind of 1960s time capsule unearthed by a group of 21st century indie kids.

Tickets are $10. Show starts at 8:30pm. Online and phone sales close at 6pm.
