5GB With The Revels; Playing Vinyl, Dec. 21st

The Revels are creating a movement and revival in the music scene. Bringing back the roots of Rock’n’Roll with loud guitar amps, giant kick drums, fuzzy bass tones, overdriven organ, and raspy vocals. Heavily influenced by Classic Rock bands like Led Zeppelin and The Who, but intrigued by Modern Rock bands The Raconteurs, Band of Skulls, and Black Keys. The Revels found their niche in their world of music and their “Take No Prisoners” live show proves that Rock’n’Roll isn’t dead. They joined us for our 5GB series before their show tonight at Vinyl

What was the first gig you ever went to?

We played our first gig at the Masquerade in Atlanta, Ga. We opened for 3 other bands and played 6 songs. It was our friend’s Cd release show and he put us on the bill.

What is the best gig that you ever played/performed at?

The best gig we ever played was opening for Foxy Shazam and releasing our CD “Keep the Dust Down” in the same night. That was easily our favorite show we’ve played.

What is the best gig you have ever been to?

Nick Magliochetti (Guitar) – Ryan Adams & The Cardinals at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, Ga

Taylor Harlow (Vocals/Guitar) – The Raconteurs at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, Ga

Tylor James (Drums) – Ryan Adams & The Cardinals at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, Ga

Thomas Wainwright (Keyboard) – Dwight Yokam at the Civic Center in Montgomery, Al

Zac Smith (bass) – Mutemath at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Ga

Gig you would most like to play?

We would love to play a festival like Bonnaroo or Coachella. We would have a great time feeding off the energy of those big crowds.

What would be the lineup for your dream gig?

To open for the Kings of Leon, Ryan Adams, the Black Keys, band of Skulls, the Strokes, or jack white. Any one of those would be amazing.
