You would have thought it was a Friday the way The Loft was rocking last night with a packed out venue for Brooklyn band American Authors. The band best known for their charming chart topper and soundtrack to many commercials, Best Day of My Life, put on a fantastically intimate show for their fans last night. I had the chance to see the band open at a work conference back in February, and it was a treat to see them play their entire album this time around.

Front man Zac Barnett has an incredible energy, utilizing every ounce of the tiny stage, jumping into the crowd, playing the guitar and drums! Highlights for me included their cover Florida Georgia Line’s Cruise, rebellion themed Luck, and heart pumping Hit It. The band’s songs span a variety of themes and tempos but are all over all upbeat and have you bouncing along. American Author’s reminds me of a modern day Goo Goo Dolls. Their debut album, Oh What a Life just debuted earlier this month and they have an amazing following. Teens were singing word for word screaming with delight for the band. Keep your eyes out for these guys as their following continues to grow!
