Known as a Deadheads Grateful Dead tribute, The Charlie Fog Band will make its first ever appearance at Smith’s Olde Bar Jan. 23.
The Charlie Fog Band prides itself on taking a true interpretation of the music and not playing note for note in both acoustic and electric.
“The Dead never played the same song the same way twice,” the band said in an email. “That was kind of their schtick. We live in that improvisational arena.”
Having played in Atlanta on several occasions at Family Dog and Terminal West, the band has been fortunate enough to meet lots of friends, such as Lewis Newmark, also known as gr8FLdude, (Atlanta’s favorite jam band).
Gr8FLdude & Frenz will play as special guests of The Charlie Fog Band.
Smith’s Olde Bar is located at 1578 Piedmont Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30324.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $13 day of the show, which starts at 8 p.m.
