Jason Dozer has been creating metal microphone stands for some of his idols, such as James LaBrie of Dream Theater and Marilyn Manson.

Dozer tells his inspiring story below, where he started out as a metal shop owner with the freedom to pursue projects he wanted. The fan and artist soon became a sought-after craftsman.

A musician himself, Dozer plays in a rock cover band and when he met LaBrie he got his first opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind mic stand for the singer of Dream Theater. Not long afterward, he created stands for the singer of Avenged Sevenfold and Robert Plant.

“At Metal Dozer it’s a one-man job” Dozer said. “It’s just me.”

He says he puts his heart and soul into every Metal Dozer project and doesn’t use computer programs to “punch out parts.” Dozer reflects on the fact that his passion for music and metal craftsmanship led him to build a genuine friendship with LaBrie, who had been an idol of Dozer’s since the ’90s.
