H.C. McEntire, frontwoman of Mount Moriah, struck out on her own with her debut solo album LIONHEART, a collection of songs inspired by the American South and a desire to reclaim “country” music from the hetero-normative, homogenous schtick of tailgates and six-packs and men chasing women. Stereogum describes her voice as “weary, wise, and bright as morning sunshine all at once,” and that sunshine glows throughout the triumphant LIONHEART.

The Mantras w/ Kilroy Kobra at Aisle 5 (Official Papadosio After Party)

Friday, September 14th at 10:00pm

The Mantras, a five piece jam machine born of Greensboro, NC have been conquering crowds and melting minds all over the country progressively for over a decade. The band’s music can be described with all types of varying rock and roll terminology, but is absolutely best defined by each listener’s ear and, equally important, their experience. Since the inception of The Mantras in the mid 2000’s, the band has been touring the country and building a catalog of 4 studio albums and over 100 original songs. Performing an entirely different set of music each night is an integral part of the band’s direction and mission as well as the ability to truly improvise in between orchestrated pieces. With eclectic influences of sounds from around the globe, The Mantras create a musical escapade during each performance, giving every ounce of emotion to their craft of expression and communication through music.

Atlanta psych rock outfit, Kilroy Kobra, known for their eclectic, color rock music – emotionally rip through their high energy performances with deeply, personal lyricism masked under groovy rhythms and vibes. Kilroy Kobra released their first album, “Man of the World” in September 2016. Their first album was paired with a movie release under the same name, synchronized to watch and listen together. The film can be viewed today on YouTube as “Man of the World – A Visual Album.”

Powerful and majestic with a lot of energy, the music of WINTERSUN mainly flows with great melodies influenced by folk and Scandinavian traditional music. If you enjoy bands like AMORPHIS (in their early days), CHILDREN OF BODOM, FINNTROLL or ENSIFERUM, “Wintersun” is the right choice for you!
