Here’s a round up of new and noteworthy music dropping today, Tuesday, August 5, 2014.


The Rosebuds – Sand + Silence (Western Vinyl)


Sand + Silence is the sixth full-length album from The Rosebuds. The North Carolina-native duo, Ivan Howard and Kelly Crisp, formed the outfit back in 2001. The indie-rock album features 11 new songs. This is the first release from the band since 2011 when they dropped the album titled Loud Planes Fly Low. Twin Peaks – Wild Onion (Grand Jury)


Twin Peaks is a four-piece heavy pop/rock outfit our of Chicago, Illinois. The foursome formed back in November of 2009 and have been touring and writing music ever since. Spider Bags – Frozen Letter (Merge)

Out of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Spider Bags is a band formed by a gaggle of companions who met in high school. The group formed in 2005 and released their debut album, A Celebration of Hunger, in 2007. Seven years later, the three-piece group is releasing their fourth album, Frozen Letter. Spoon – They Want My Soul (Loma Vista)

Spoon is a indie/alternative rock band made up of five members. They Want My Soul is the eighth studio album from the Austin, Texas band. Since their formation in 1993, Spoon has produced many hits, including “Got Nuffin’,” “Don’t You Evah” and “The Way We Get By.”  Learn more about the band and their tour dates on Spoon’s website.


Naomi Punk – Television Man (Captured Tracks)

Garage-punk group, Naomi Punk, drops their newest album Television Man today. This new LP is the sixth release from the Olympia, Washington band. Dikembe – Mediumship (Tiny Engines)

Don’t be fooled by the crazy name, this is one serious band. Dikembe is a four piece outfit who calls Gainesville, Florida home and formed in 2011. Their new album, Mediumship, features 10 new songs. While this band doesn’t have a website, you can check out Dikembe’s facebook for more information.


Mozart’s Sister – Being (Asthmatic Kitty)

Caila Thompson-Hannant is the heart and soul behind this one-woman band. In 2011, she released her first EP titled Dear Fear. Being is her first release since Dear Fear. The Empty Hearts – The Empty Hearts (429 Records/Savoy)

Empty Hearts

The Empty Hearts featured band members from your favorite artists of yester-years, including: The Cars, Blondie, The Romantics and Chesterfield Kings. These hit-makers have joined forces to revive rock and roll’s roots. Their self-titled release spans the decades of rock and roll and mixes into one amazing album.
