Q&A With Molly Hunt; Playing Eddie’s Attic, Jan. 6th

2012 is proving to be an incredible year! Highlights include: Opening for LORETTA LYNN, STEVE HOLY, TRENT TOMILSON, part of the artist line-up at the world famous 99.5 WYCD Detroit Hoedown with Katie Armiger, Glen Templeton, Tyler Farr, THE FARM, Jana Kramer, Montgomery Gentry, Dierks Bentley, writing full-time, performing, recording, going to Hollywood and Vegas with the AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 11 TOP 60, completing my Sophomore year of high school with all “A’s”….. the story still being written! She joined us for a little Q&A before her show at Eddie’s Attic.

What’s the first gig you ever attended?

I was about 5 years old and I was madly in love with the Christian “boy band” – PLUS ONE (the Christian version of NSYNC). My parents took me to see them in Detroit. I remember sitting there in awe of the awesomeness of the sound, staging and performance. It was all over…. I knew I was supposed to be a part of music in some way that night.

What is the best gig that you ever played/performed?

Oh my gosh, that is hard to say… I LOVE every time I get to perform, but if I had to narrow it down it would be between 2 very different events: #1. Singing God Bless America for my favorite Hockey team, the DETROIT RED WINGS in 2012. #2. Opening for CRAIG MORGAN in MS this past Fall. Thousands of Craig Morgan fans gathered and I was honored to sing for them, that was an amazing crowd!”

What is the best gig you have ever seen?

If it’s a “LIVE performance” it is hands-down the Trans-Siberian Orchestra I saw winter of 2010 … INCREDIBLE musicians / talent / show! If it is a “DVD Concert performance”, hands-down the Celine Dion LIVE in LAS VEGAS – A NEW DAY. I must say, I’ve watched that DVD a 100 x’s and I still cry, still get goose bumps!

What Gig you would most like to play?

LOVE this question! I dream of singing / performing at The White House someday, or a performing for any World Leader.

What would be the lineup for your dream gig?

Celine Dion, U2 and Me ☺….. anywhere in the world would be just fine with me!

Do you have any pre-show rituals?

Definitely do! Make my Licorice tea, make sure my lip gloss is close at hand, and pray, Pray, PRAY with my Mumzy!

What is the strangest thing a fan has done for you? or at your show?

A man came to one of my shows and it was pouring rain; as they say – “the show “must go on.” I was singing to one person and it was him! This man was the ONLY person sitting in the rain on a blanket with no umbrella trying to take pictures.

If you could describe your music in one word, what would it be?

Trendsetter.

What is the funniest moment you have had as an artist/band so far?

When I was 11 years old I was singing the National Anthem at a little le and out came a pure BURP….. I was horrified!

What is the best way to write your music?

My strong suite is melody so I always come up with a melody first. As I work with that, lyric always seems to follow. Most of the time I take my song idea into a writing session with a writer I feel would “get it”….I’m never disappointed!
