What’s Up Wednesday?

Oh my goodness what an incredibly fun night! As amazing as Nashville is during the CMA’s, I have to admit that I am pretty jealous that y’all get to see my current favorite band tonight! So without further ado, here is my list of fun-ness for you tonight.

-If I was in Atlanta, there would be no other place to go tonight except straight to The Earl, to see my current favorite band, The Alabama Shakes. This band is about to blow up, so make sure and see them in a small intimate venue while you can.

-However, if you don’t feel like venturing over to East Atlanta tonight, then march yourself straight to Vinyl, where Nashvillians, Kopecky Family Band will be entertaining the crowds with their infectious indie rock.

Hip Hop for Palestine is unifying Atlanta’s hip hop community in support of Palestine’s biggest hip hop crew, DAM, and their message of resistance. Join forces with them tonight at The Loft.

-Feeling a little N’awlins-y? Head over to Smith’s Olde Bar where MarchFourth Marching Band, the mobile big band spectacular, will be playing. Consisting of a brassy pack of saxophones, trombones, and trumpets, a raucous drum/percussion corps, anchored by a mobile and wireless electric bass, this should be a very fun show.

-Over at the Masquerade, indie-soul duo The Foreign Exchange will be showing off some new tunes.  Picking up where their 2008 Grammy-nominated “Leave It All Behind” set left off, “Authenticity” is the group’s most diverse work to date, the first 150 tickets are $20.00!

-And don’t forget the wildy eclectic, Todd Rundgren’s Utopia will be joined by Kevin Ellman at Center Stage.
