What’s Up Wednesday?

It’s fall Atlanta! Did you wear a scarf today? All I can say is whew, I am glad it is Wednesday, and the weekend is starting to peak its head!  There are some awesome events tonight, so I hope you check out one of them!

-The legendary  Leon Russell is playing Terminal West tonight. This is a pretty special happening, so really you should go check this out.

-Wu-Tang philosopher king RZA sweeps through Atlanta on an 11-city tour to promote his upcoming Kung Fu feature-length directorial debut, The Man With the Iron Fists (Nov. 2), in which he stars and shares co-writing credit with Eli Roth.

Julian Velard has released his brilliant album ‘Mr Saturday Night’. The native New Yorker, and part time London resident presents a masterpiece collection of perfect and unorthodox pop tunes and a voice that sounds like it came straight off the Dock of the Bay. Blending effortless cool, with a naturally charming motor mouth, he has created his own brand of classic 70’s inspired piano pop. Make sure you see him at Smith’s Olde Bar.

-Bay Area headbangers Death Angel perform their 1987 debut, The Ultra-Violence, in its entirety tonight at The Earl.

-Wooden Shjips singer/guitarist Erik “Ripley” Johnson and organist Sanae make up San Francisco’s Moon Duo. They are playing the 529 tonight.

-Athens based Betsy Kingston, who is accompanied by guitar viruoso Bo “Tuscaloosa Mudcat” Hembree, bass legend Greg “Kewl” Cooler, merciless drummer Chris “Vinny” Monahan, and Chuck “Monster” Arnold leading a horn section of trumpets and trombones is playing tonight at Eddie’s Attic.
