Thursday October 3 – Sunday October 6 – Atlanta Greek Festival @ Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation
The tradition continues as, once again, the Atlanta Greek Community opens its doors, its arms and its kitchens to the city with the Atlanta Greek Festival. For the 38th year, the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, on Clairmont Road, will be hosting the annual Atlanta Greek Festival. The fun starts tonight and continues through Sunday October 6th!

Come for cooking demos, authentic Greek food, entertainment, kids activities and more!

When Cody ChesnuTT released The Headphone Masterpiece in 2002, the music world noticed. ChesnuTT was exactly what music should be. His 36-song masterpiece (the title is not an empty boast) easily encompassed R&B and hip-hop with funk, classic rock, gospel, and even a touch of punk.

Friday October 4 – The Dodos @ The Drunken Unicorn

When it came time for the Dodos to begin writing their fifth LP, Carrier, singer/guitarist Meric Long wanted to start over. The uncertainty of the band’s trajectory as well as the passing of guitarist Chris Reimer brought about a reassessment of things within the band, and in particular Long’s songwriting. But for a band briefly in flux, it’s clear now that the Dodos’ outlook on the future has never looked more certain.

Friday October 4 – Steve Forbert @ Eddie’s Attic

As a young man from Meridian, Mississippi, Steve traveled to New York City and played guitar for spare change in Grand Central Station. He vaulted to international prominence with a folk-rock hit, “Romeo’s Tune,” during a time when rootsy rock was fading out and the Ramones, Talking Heads and other New Wave and punk acts were moving in to the public consciousness.

The Honey Dewdrops are the Virginia-based roots duet of Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish.
