Live Music for Monday 6/16

David Dondero w/ Coyote Bones featuring Madeline @ The EARL

“This is the sound of a man on fire. Smart, funny and honestly out of his mind; but he comes back long enough to sing about it. One of the best singer/songwriters I’ve ever heard.”
– Bob Boilen, NPR

Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 day of show. Online and phone sales close at 6:00 pm day of show. Doors open at 8:30 pm.

Songwriter’s Open Mic @ Eddie’s Attic

For over 19 years, we’ve hosted Atlanta’s premiere SONGWRITER’S OPEN MIC for the performing songwriter. National and local acts perform 2 songs each, with 3 finalists returning for a third song at the end of the evening for a chance to win a cash prize and a spot in our bi-annual, nationally acclaimed Open Mic Shootout. This is a great opportunity for up and coming talent to hone their skills and for listeners to see and meet tomorrow’s stars.

General Admission tickets are $5 in advance, $6 at the door. Table seats are $6.25 and must be purchased in multiples of 4. Doors open at 7:00 pm.

Bane w/ Foundation, Code Orange Kids, & Give @ Mammal Gallery

Founded on beliefs that are in short supply within the current underground music scene, Massachusetts’ Bane has established themselves as one of the most influential and relevant bands in hardcore today. Since their inception, they’ve become one of the scene’s hardest working bands touring the world over and releasing three full-length’s: 1999’s It All Comes Down To This, 2001’s critically acclaimed Give Blood, and 2005’s The Note.

Tickets are $12. Online and phone sales close at 4:00 pm day of show. Doors open at 8:30 pm.

Tweak Bird @ 529

Tweak Bird is a brother duo consisting of Caleb and Ashton Bird. Produced under the helm of Deaf Nephews (Melvins’ Dale Crover and Altamont’s Toshi Kasai), the duo’s debut is a sweeping seven-song intro to a band exploring the depths of heavy experimental, progressive, and psych-infused rock. A sort of musical Armageddon that’s constantly on the horizon, looming. Tweak Bird has played shows with The Melvins, Ancestors, Earthless, and many others. Picked by the Melvins, they played at ATP’s The Nightmare Before X-Mas 2008 edition, curated by the Melvins and Mike Patton. Recently, they were on a 3 week tour as openers for Tool and just completed a full US tour with The Melvins.

Tickets are $7Online and phone sales close at 6:00 pm day of show. Doors open at 9:00 pm.
