Q & A with Whiskey Myers Playing @ Peachtree Tavern Tuesday, 1/22 – Free Download for Adv. Ticket Buyers

WhiskeyMyers

One moment, Whiskey Myers is cooking along on a blues/rock groove and you figure you have this East Texas band’s musical ambitions pegged. And for that moment, you do. But out of nowhere, the quintet slides into some hard-rock chords and arena-ready guitar solos, and you realize that no, this is what Whiskey Myers is. And in that instant, you’re right again. But not for long. Suddenly, the band falls back into a country-rock beat that carries just a tinge of Gram Parsons undercurrent. Aaah, this is what the Tyler-based act is about. For that little period of time, once again, it’s true.

We caught up with Whiskey Myers before the show at Peachtree Tavern Tuesday, January 22nd. The band is also giving away a FREE download of their new CD “Firewater” to all advance ticket buyers, so get your tickets now!

What is the strangest thing a fan has done for you? or at your show?

A fan waited outside of Cody’s house for several hours to ask for an autograph before we were supposed to leave for a show.

What is the funniest moment you have had as an artist/band so far?

We have things where we have foot races after our shows. It all started in the Prevost parking lot in Nashville and John challenged our bus driver to a foot race. The bus driver got on his running shoes and shorts and we all went outside to watch. He started stretching and being serious and we couldn’t find John. About the time we started looking for him, he bounced down off the bus in his underwear and tennis shoes and raced the bus driver in his drawers.

Do you have any pre-show rituals?

We say the Lord’s prayer, give our merchandise manager high fives, take a Jager bomb.

If you could describe your music in one word, what would it be?

Dirty

How do you connect with a crowd?

We go out there with them after the show and hang out.

How did you come up with your band name?

Solar flares

See Whiskey Myers at Peachtree Tavern this Tuesday, January 22nd!
