What’s Up Monday 9/22

Happy Monday, Atlanta! Here’s what you’ve got going on tonight!

OK Productions Presents: Black Prairie (featuring members of The Decemberists) at Eddie’s Attic

By now, Black Prairie has clearly outgrown its roots as a casual side project, solidifying into a primary, creative focus for its members—a band with its own internal momentum, genuine character and style. Still, it’s only become harder to describe what that style is. “I gave up a long time ago,” guitarist Jon Neufeld says. When asked what kind of music Black Prairie plays, Neufeld usually just says “soft rock,” and walks away.

General admission tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door. Table seats are $18.75 each and must be purchased in multiples of 4. Online, phone, and outlet sales close at 5pm on the day of the show. Doors open at 6:30pm.

The Growlers with special guests at The EARL

The music of The Growlers is unmistakable. Sure, you can hone in on some influences baked into the work of this California-bred band. Heck, even they’d cop to a few, like Ricky Nelson and The Clash. But once those same RIYL tags have been filtered through the minds and hands and voices of this five-piece, there’s simply nothing else like it.
Tickets are $10. Online and phone sales end at 6 pm on the day of the event.  Doors open at 8:30pm.
