Songwriter’s Open Mic @ Eddie’s Attic
For over 19 years, Eddie’s Attic has hosted Atlanta’s premiere Songwriter’s Open Mic for the performing songwriter. National and local acts perform 2 songs each, with 3 finalists returning for a third song at the end of the evening for a chance to win a cash prize and a spot in their bi-annual, nationally acclaimed Open Mic Shootout. This is a great opportunity for up and coming talent to hone their skills and for listeners to see and meet tomorrow’s stars.
Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Online and phone sales end at 5pm.

In 2009 Bryan Taylor recorded his first album as Slowriter, “What Keeps Me Sane.” The songs were infectiously catchy and strikingly quirky. Taylor quickly gained praises for his idiosyncratic melding of acoustic guitars and billowing soundscapes. By 2011 he released a self-titled follow up EP. Hip hop’s all-devouring sonics had weaved their way into the program beats, creating a barrier of harmony that quelled the psychedelic wall that could have easily emerged in the most grandiose songs.

The Maine is an American rock band from Tempe, Arizona formed in January of 2007. Their first full-length Can’t Stop Won’t Stop was released on July 8th, 2008 to incredible fan reception. With the momentum of their first release, The Maine dropped Black and White in the summer of 2010. It was instantly clear that what the group had was something special – it was this release that the fans and industry started to see their growth and maturity expand as creative artists and musicians.
