What’s Up Thursday? December 26

hqdefaultHow was you Christmas, Atlanta?? Get anything good? Like, concert tickets perhaps? We’ve got a couple of good concerts in store for you tonight… Coincidentally.

Reelin’ in the Dan @ Smith’s Olde Bar

Atlanta’s latest musical aggregation Reelin’ In The Dan was born out of a love for the timeless music of Steely Dan.  This 9-piece ensemble of show biz kids effectively recreates some of the most memorable and meticulous studio recordings, all while providing a highly entertaining show worthy of your glistening money clip.  Our self-installed 3-piece horn section is tight and ready to trade eights on some of these charts.  Can’t buy a thrill, you say?  Keep losing your place in the countdown to ecstasy?  Here at the western world, we offer up some familiar characters: Rikki, Peg, Josie, and Kid Charlemagne.  Get your fez on for a fun romp through this music – you just won’t hear these harmonies elsewhere with the passion we were born to provide.  Brought to you by nine major dudes: Adrian Ash, Reese Boyd, Jeff Fritz, John Hancotte, William Hollifield, Mac Isseks, Jason Passmore, Trenton Sicola, and Lefty Williams. “No static at all…”

Doors at 7:30pm. Tickets are $10.

The Cumberland Collective @ Eddie’s Attic

The Cumberland Collective is a community of independent singer/songwriters and musicians from across the U.S. At first you may think that you’re listening to The Band, but then you’ll hear Bonnie Raitt, and then Marvin Gaye. They aren’t a copy band by any stretch. They fill every corner of the room with talent and each song they play seems better than the last…. Their performances combine all the polish of a stage show with all the coolness of a living room jam session. You don’t want to miss it.
Doors at 6:30pm. Tickets are $10.
