WRFG Jams at Smith’s Olde Bar with the Yonrico Scott Band – June 10

Atlanta’s WRFG 89.3 FM hosts the Yonrico Scott Band, fronted by one of the most sought-after drummers in the jazz/R&B/funk and jam worlds today. For the past 25 years Yonrico Scott has had the honor of playing drums for Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Sammy Davis Jr., Chuck Berry, M.C. Hammer, Anita Baker, The Allman Brothers Band, Kansas, Gregg Allman, John Denver, The Supremes, Dream Girls, The Lexington Philharmonic, Widespread Panic, The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and many, many more. Since 1995 Yonrico Scott, has been the drummer for the Derek Trucks Band, who were awarded a Grammy in January for their Best Contemporary Blues Album, Already Free.

When Scott is not drumming for music legends or touring the world with the Derek Trucks Band, he fronts his own amazingly talented band – the Yonrico Scott Band.

WRFG “Radio Free Georgia” has been on the air since 1973, providing Georgia residents and musicians with a local independent-alternative radio station. Raising funds for the station, WRFG is hosting the Yonrico Scott Band at Smith’s Olde Bar on Thursday, June 10.
