After a few weeks, we’re back up and running. We know you’ve missed our Weekend Picks, so never fear – our recommendations for the days ahead are here for you. And it looks like a slew of Chastain’s summer series shows are about to go on sale, so be sure to check those out at the bottom of the post. As for the here and now, spring is really kicking into gear with a ton of amazing gigs to choose from this weekend, from hip-hop legends, local rockers, indie darlings and more.

Thursday, March 31 – Robert Earl Keen, Bloodkin at The Buckhead Theatre

Texas singer-songwriter Robert Earl Keen has been popular with a slew of different music fans, from country to Americana to folk to rock. Athens rockers Bloodkin open for Keen tonight.

The reggae legends that started with Bob Marley are still going strong. Catch them on Friday night at Masquerade.

It’ll be a rowdy night at Smith’s Olde Bar with punk gypsies Scythian and local alt-country rockers The Whiskey Gentry on Saturday.

The Jayhawks join indie-darlings-turned-stadium-rockers (but without the awkward bombast) Band of Horses on Saturday.

We’ve missed the sassy and funky sounds of hip-hop’s leading ladies, Salt-N-Pepa. Atlanta welcomes them back with open arms this Saturday.
