shockwave riderzShockwave Riderz are a three piece from Pittsburgh consisting of Phil Boyd, Sara Mac and !!! drummer Paul Quattrone who make fuzzy garage rock. The band started making music roughly a year ago, but they are already on a roll. They guys are starting a tour with !!! this week and were super stoked to share some info with Atlanta Music Guide!

Check out Phil Boyd’s responses to our 5GB interview:

What’s the first gig you ever attended?

The Temptations at Michigan Fest in 1987 or something.

What is the best gig that you ever played/performed?

Paul and I used to be in another band and we played together for about a decade and have lots of good show memories. Shockwave Riderz has only been playing for a year or so, so I think our best gigs are yet to come. We’re glad to be getting it out on the road and every show we do has been exciting for us.

What is the best gig you have ever seen?

That’s another tough one; so many good shows in their own ways. Our old band, Modey Lemon, played a festival that Kraftwerk played, just as soon as our set was finished. I kind of went out of my mind when I saw them. The Make Up in 2000 was great… Shockwave Riderz went to see Neil Young and Crazy Horse on their last tour and that night was pretty perfect too.

Gig you would most like to play?

!!! and Shockwave Riderz at The Earl this Wednesday.

What would be the lineup for your dream gig?

!!! and Shockwave Riderz at The Earl this Wednesday!

Check out Shockwave Riderz at The EARL tomorrow, May 22! Tickets below!
