Live Review: Graham Colton @ Eddie’s Attic, November 19th

Review By Molly Free

This Saturday night I found myself cozied up with a bourbon and ginger stage right at Eddie’s Attic. What a way to spend a chilly night listening to acoustic love songs and story telling by Graham Colton.

Graham hails from Oklahoma City, which we all learned is where he got his start singing at a local Mexican restaurant for his friends covering Dave Matthews. He has come a long way since having songs featured on numerous TV shows and touring with the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Dave Matthews himself.

This was Graham’s second live recording at Eddie’s, since his releasing his first recording at the venue early this summer. He was a great storyteller giving with tales of old girlfriends, his parents courtship, with a few great covers sprinkled in the mix. Graham has recently put together a new project with singer-songwriter Lindsay Ray, titled “Sooner the Sunset” which he graciously played a few new songs for us. The duo began collaborating last summer and released their EP just this October. Lindsay was unable to make the show but Graham discussed wanting the two to tour together as an opening act in due time.

His highlights of the night were “Helium Heart” “1981” and “Hold onto my Heart”. Graham made you feel like you were in his living room while he played some of his songs for a group of his closest friends. With this charming Midwest looks and his way of telling a love story, I left wanting to go home and write in my diary about love.

Graham’s latest EP by “Sooner the Sunset” is available on Itunes as well as his summer recording at Eddie’s.
