What’s Up Thursday?

-What is it about Nashville that always seems to pop out some of the best (and most attractive!) songwriters in the country? Come see one of Nashvegas’ finest, Josh Hoge (who has  written or appeared on songs for the likes of Backstreet Boys, Jesse Mccartney, Elliott Yamin, Lupe Fiasco, Blake Lewis,, Anoop Desai, Dave Barnes, etc.) tonight at Vinyl. He’s playing with another Nashville cutie, Andy Davis, and  Kevin Daniel.

-Get your funk on over at Smith’s Olde Bar, where Big Sam’s Funky Nation will be keeping you wide awake.

-All the cool kids will be over in East Atlanta at The EARL tonight for the kick off of Nophest 2011, a self-declared “non-corporate, no-bullshit music festival thrown every year in Atlanta. Now in its 5th official year, Nophest has served as a showcase for up-and-coming talent and left-field experimentalism in music and art.” Make sure and catch XO, the Difference Machine, A. Grimes, and Vegan Coke.

-We all know it’s really women that run the world! Head over to Eddie’s Attic for a healthy dose of estrogen for “Women of Rock with Caroline Aiken, Diane Durrett, and Donna Hopkins.
