Your prix FIXX menu: Virginia Highland Summerfest, June 2-3

Good evening, music connoisseur!  Our Atlanta Music Guide readers have developed a taste for only the finest in live performances, and we are proud to present these selections for the upcoming Virginia-Highland Summerfest. Please enjoy the following four-course menu available at the DAVE FM music stage, June 2-3, 2012.

Amuse:  School of Rock All Stars: Saturday, June 2, 12:00pm-1:15pm. The fine folks at the Virginia-Highland Civic Association have put together an amazing lineup of local musicians and national acts. Let’s show a little love for our neighbors who hope to become rock stars of the next generation. Atlanta’s own School of Rock will feature young performers to warm up the crowd and rock the stage. School’s out for summer!!!

First Course: Best Brothers Band: Saturday, June 2, 3:15pm-4:15pm. Two brothers and a few good friends have been making music together since they were teens. The band hails from Destin, FL and cites U2, Lenny Kravitz, and Pink Floyd as influences. A generous helping of indie pop and uplifting harmonies will serve as a your appetizer for the weekend.

Second Course JK and the Lost Boys: Sunday, June 3, 3:00pm-4:00pm. FYI, this is not Corey Feldman and the vampires from the 80’s flick. It’s the meat and potatoes of your rock festival. You may have caught this band live at Smith’s Olde Bar while tossing back a few. Both their acoustic ballads and hard-driving party songs are how the band likes to “express the feel-good vibes of teenage summers past.”

And for Dessert…The FIXX!!! Sunday, June 3, 4:30pm-6:00pm. Can hardly believe that this new wave phenomenon from the UK will be headline the festival on Sunday night! Fans are sure to hear hits like “One Thing Leads to Another,” “Stand or Fall,” and “Red Skies at Night.” And the band’s deeper cuts from the albums Shuttered Room and Reach the Beach are true gems of the early 80’s electronic scene. Arrive early and finish off your festival experience with this sweet treat–you’ll be saved by zero calories!

This menu is just a sampling of two full days packed with great music. Enjoy one of Atlanta’s best artists markets, a smorgasbord of festival food, and a chance to mingle with your neighbors–we recommend the entire feast for your senses!
