AMG Picks: Top 10 Karaoke Bars in Atlanta

We’ve all been there. 2 a.m. surrounded by our closest friends, too many empty shot glasses, and one empty stage calling your name, haunting you, reminding you of all your rock star ambitions. We’re talking about karaoke! This is our love song (pun intended) to the ancient art form practiced by kings and perfected by the inebriated masses. Ok, maybe it’s not all that ancient but who cares? Here are our top 10 karaoke bars in Atlanta!

10. The Local
Ah do you smell that?  The kind of smell that takes all weekend to wash out of your hair. The kind of smell that fills you with nostalgia and a tinge of nausea. That’s the classic aroma of a dive bar and that’s exactly what you get at this Virginia Highlands neighborhood favorite. The only thing missing is the signature smoke cloud. That’s because The Local is smoke-free as of this spring!

9. 10 High at Dark Horse Tavern
Sometimes you have to go deep to pull out your inner rock star. In this case, you have to go the basement. 10 High is located beneath the Dark Horse Tavern as is best know for its  live-band “Metalsome” hard-rock karaoke sessions.

8. Corner Tavern
Looking for a place where everybody knows your name? With 4 locations across the city, someone is bound to know you at The Corner Tavern. Bottomless mimosas for Sunday brunch will get you nice and ready for your solo karaoke performance.

Pizza, beer, and karaoke on a Saturday night? Yes, please! Camelli’s, recently featured on Atlanta Eats, has two locations in the city that host karaoke every week. But the real treat is the 21 and up ice cream menu. Be careful though, after a couple of scoops, things can get weird!

3. Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium
We think this picture says it all. If you’re looking for a party with personality, look no further. Sister Louisa’s, or Church as it fondly referred to, is nothing short of a religious experience. With their motto, “F*** Fear”, plastered indiscriminately,  there is no reason to hold back when you’re belting out your favorite tunes.

1. Felix’s Atlanta
Just a damn fun neighborhood gay bar serving stout drinks at reasonable prices. Felix’s hosts a different kind of Karaoke show on Tuesdays from 11:00 pm until 2:00 am. Entertainers Brett & Tyler take Karaoke to a whole new level with their weekly live performance.
