AMG’s 4th of July Weekend Preview!

Save on bug-spray this year and let someone else handle the grill. Atlanta knows how to throw down for America – here are a couple suggestions on how and where to celebrate our nation’s independence.

Saturday, July 3  – Blair Crimmins and the Hookers at the EARL
Not only will a Blair Crimmins and the Hookers show make you feel like you’re spending the 4th of July in New Orleans, it’ll make you feel like you’re in a swinging 1940’s New Orleans dive bar. Atlanta’s A Fight to the Death and Lindsay Appel open. We recommend you hydrate and wear dancing shoes!

Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4 – Col. Bruce Hampton and the Quark Alliance at Smith’s Olde Bar
Georgia-based music legend Col. Bruce Hampton and the Quark Alliance are camping out for two nights at Smith’s Olde Bar this 4th of July weekend. Blues rock meets outerspace jam session is what’ll be going on. This is definitely the party for anyone lookin’ to get down and let loose!

Sunday, July 4 Whiskey Blue Rooftop Party at Whiskey Blue, W Hotel Buckhead
Looking for a fancier way to spend the 4th of July? Whiskey Blue has exactly what you need. Check out the rooftop at the posh friendly Whiskey Blue inside the W Buckhead for a great view of the fireworks – and all night long drink and food specials! VIP reserved tables available.

Sunday, July 4 – Lightning Bolt at Eyedrum
Experimental noise rock duo Lightning Bolt prefer their “guerrilla gig” set up (on the floor in the middle of the audience) rather than the traditional stage show. Fans love feeling involved and the band is happy they can change it up and create a unique experience at their shows.

Sunday, July 4 – Red White and Blue with a View at the Sundial Restaurant, Westin Peachtree Plaza
Not really into the whole backyard grillin’ thing? Rather celebrate America from the comfort of a slowly spinning restaurant atop a hotel in downtown Atlanta? You’re in luck. The Sundial Restaurant hosts Red, White and Blue with a View! Possibly the best view in town, The Sundial will be catering all the traditional 4th of July foods – wings, mini-burgers, hot dogs, chips and dip galore! Families are welcome – discounted tickets for children 6-12, complimentary for kids under 5.
