As if the Shaky Knees Festival lineup wasn’t awesome enough, German indie-pop duo, Milky Chance, announces an encore performance at Center Stage for the Shaky Knees Late Night Fest on Saturday, May 9. The international sensation added the venue to their already stacked North American tour schedule, whose 39 dates sold out immediately and includes appearances at Coachella, Sasquatch, Osheaga, Outside Lands, and Squamish Valley Music Festival.
The pair was catapulted into the spotlight in 2013 with their viral hit song, “Stolen Dance.” The song was an instant Internet sensation with 130 million views on YouTube and over 100 million streams on Spotify. This March, they were featured on the Metro Us “Artists-to-Watch” list after their infectious performance at SXSW. Their debut album Sadnecessary reached the iTunes Top 10, both nationally and internationally, and has been certified platinum in Australia, Canada, Germany, and The Netherlands. They were nominated “Best German Act” by the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards and have been featured in USA Today, Elle, Spin, and Infinite Legroom. Their musical clout earned them a spot on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where they performed their newest single, “Flashed Junk Mind.”
Shaky Knees Fest late night shows require a separate ticket and are not included in the regular festival pass. The show is general admission with no assigned seating. Tickets are only $27 in advance, $32 at the door, and are available online at Ticketmaster.com or without ticket fees in person at the Center Stage Box Office, M-F, 11-6. Online sales end at 5 p.m. on day of show. $1 from each ticket benefits the Songs For Kids Foundation.
