Preview: Those Darlins @ The EARL 1/17

Those Darlins

2013 was a banner year for Those Darlins! Their album Blur The Line was released in October to wide-spread critical acclaim. Giving it 3.5 stars Rolling Stone called it “a seductive bite that goes well with their lupine guitar ooze.” Spin called Blur The Line “smart and seductive” and Blurt gave it 5 out of 5 stars. Those Darlins found support from a number of outlets who since this past September premiered tracks or videos. Among them were Spin, Brooklyn Vegan, Consequence of Sound, Paste, American Songwriter and Popmatters. Their newest single “Into the Wilderness” can be viewed here.

The band is well-known for their killer live shows and 2013 saw them tour the US stopping along the way to record sessions for, among others, KEXP, Spin (at the Voodoo Festival) and Oregon Public Broadcasting. Previous to their headlining tour the were hand-picked by Mumford & Sons for inclusion on several of the Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers dates.

Capping off the year was a live recording at The Stone Fox in their hometown of Nashville, TN – to be released this year entitled Live At The Stone Fox, drawing from the band’s newest album Blur The Line, as well as from their first two releases.
