Atlanta-based rock band Motor Earth will perform Friday, November 20th for a special show at Star Bar to launch the release of their debut EP, Away to Pieces.
Newcomers Motor Earth represent a rare breed in the Atlanta music scene – a straight ahead, high energy rock band that confidently manages to straddle the line between indie rock and old school, riff-heavy rock and roll. Their debut EP, co-produced by Bruce Butkovich at Open Sky Studio, features five raw, riff-driven tracks that blend visceral rhythms, big hooks and multi-layered harmonies.
Formed in December of 2014, Motor Earth draws upon a long list of influences both new and old, including Queens of the Stone Age, Thin Lizzy, The Beatles, Cheap Trick, and the Foo Fighters. The four-piece rock band is no stranger to the Atlanta music scene, with a collective experience that includes extensive regional/national touring and major label recording credits.
Their return to Star Bar next Friday to celebrate the release of their EP promises a night full of high energy steeped in sweat and volume. Atlanta rock veterans The Halls of Jupiter will round out the bill.
Tickets are $8 at the door. Doors open at 8pm.
