What’s Up Thursday?

I love nights like this is Atlanta! There are tons of great music events happening around the city tonight, so get on your shiniest shoes, and get out of the house… you can DVR your episodes of “Hammerhead Histories.” And check out below to find out just exactly why the woman in picture is still bringing all the lads to her yard.

-Well, it is appropriate that just because it is Shark Week, Australia’s best-haired country singer, Keith Urban will be psuedo-twanging it up at the Gwinnett Center… I am assuming though that the humidity here is probably a bit too much for his prettier half. He is here for two nights, where do you think he will be hanging out?

-If you have ever met Cassavettes frontman Robbie Horlick, the first thing you might notice is his gentle demeanor and soft voice; however, don’t let this fool you, Horlick is an indie pied piper, and his latest avenue, Book Club is having their LP release tonight at The EARL.

-Head over to Smith’s Olde Bar, if you are one of those folks who likes to say “I saw him perform when…” to see guitar prodigy Tyler Bryant prove why Vince Gill said, “To be 18 and play like this kid is the rarest of the rare. Hands down a future guitar god.”

-One of Atlanta’s well-respected rock bands, Trances Arc, will be scaling it down a bit for a rare performance at Eddie’s Attic with Rantings of Eva frontman Ryan Flanagan.

-Name this Tune-maker: Currently in Rolling Stone magazine, recently named one of Jezebel magazine’s most eligible Atlantans, and a general do-gooder? No it’s not  Besse Cooper (pictured above) the WORLD’S OLDEST PERSON! It’s Wesley Cook, who will be playing at the W Downtown’s Drinkshop Live!
